Description from the Producer
Drawing from the savoir-faire of six generations of winemaking in Bordeaux, CH TEAU is the expression of a vintage. Created without the constraints of imitating Left Bank or Right Bank style, this wine is blended to showcase the character of the growing season. Complexity, subtlety, and elegance are privileged over outright power and concentration, but this remains and bold and age-worthy wine. 75% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc. Unfined and unfiltered, this wine was bottled in August 2020. From 17 barrels, 410 cases were produced.
With dark fruit, stony minerality, and subtle oak on the nose, the palate reveals a dense texture and concentrated black fruit character. Firm tannins frame a precise and focused finish. The 2018 CH TEAU should drink best from 2022-2032. If opened in its youth, we recommend decanting 30 minutes before serving. Decant for sediment as needed. Serve at 17-18 degrees celsius. Pair with braised meats, lamb or duck, roasted root vegetables, and mushrooms.
