Description from the Producer
Our inaugural Viognier was crafted from the first harvest of this exceptional varietal at Stonebridge Viognier. The 2023 growing season was marked by early spring frosts, naturally thinning the crop and allowed for a longer, cooler ripening period. This extended maturation has imparted the wine with vibrant floral aromas and refreshing acidity.
Hand-harvested on October 19, 2023, the whole clusters were carefully pressed. 65% percent of the juice was aged in French oak barrels, with the remaining 35% in stainless steel, both undergoing wild fermentation and aging for 11 months. The wine emerged with a finely structured body and a complex, harmonious balance.
"What a beautifully rich and creamy nose, rife in apricot, summer peach, nectarine, beeswax, jasmine and toasty vanilla/nutmeg spices. It’s viscous, concentrated and textured on the palate and opens with a flinty note that leads to dense apricot tart, mango, quince, poached pear, toasted hazelnuts and spice with a luxurious texture through a fresh and long finish. An exotic treat done right."
