Merlot, which dominates the blend is sourced from the organically farmed Laundry vineyard in the Lincoln Lakeshore sub-appellation and the Syrah was harvested at optimal ripeness from the low-yielding vines of our own Hillside vineyard. The nose shows tons of Merlot; a combination of red and black fruit with a subtle underlying note of graphite. As one might expect the palate reveals the upfront dominance of Merlot punctuated by plums and currants which slowly give way to a savouriness mid-palate and finishes strong with really interesting black pepper notes contributed by Syrah.

Pairings: This is going to be the wine of the winter; it pairs wonderfully with your favourite stews and really most of the comfort foods we love when it cools off. Try this one with your favourite chili recipe or some nice saucy ribs. We also think that it is pretty terrific on its own shared with a good friend.
