The Lacey family bought this Hillier property in Prince Edward County back in 1982, first as a summer retreat. Two decades later they planted vines, opening a family winery in the mid-2000s.
It has stayed a hands-on family operation, with the next generation now stepping into the winemaking.
County Chardonnay and Pinot
Winemaker Kimball Lacey learned the County's cool-climate craft at two of its benchmark estates, Norman Hardie and Closson Chase, and brought that Burgundian sensibility home. The estate grows Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay in Hillier's clay-loam soils.
Riesling and Gewurztraminer round out the aromatic whites. Everything is estate-grown and made by hand, on a small County scale.
