A deep garnet coloured Meritage with a complex bouquet of black cherry, black currant, sweet spice, vanilla extract, coffee bean and smoky oak. This medium to full-bodied wine has soft yet drying tannins, good structure and moderate acidity. Flavours of dark plum, juicy cherry, vanilla and sweet spice fill the mouth. The extra-dry finish lingers with notes of juicy dark fruits, black tea and spice.
Enjoy with grilled red meats; mushroom stew; leg of lamb; grilled lamb chops; pheasant in a rich red wine reduction; steak and kidney pie; two-year-old cheddar and Bellavitano Merlot cheese. Wonderful cool evening sipping wine while watching the sun set over the lake or ocean.
Serve at a cool room temperature of 16 to 18?C. Drink now through 2024. Decanting is recommended if drinking now through 2021.
