Description
Soft and silky red with notes of cherry, vanilla, plum, jam and blackberries, this medium to full-bodied wine has soft tannins and a tobacco and cocoa finish. One of the more popular varietals, this wine can be served with a variety of dishes, including pastas, cheese fondues and lighter cuts of meat. Aged in French Oak barrels for 18 months.

Appearance: Semi-opaque. Dark ruby red core.
Nose: Dark cherry, violets, and plum with a hint of spice and an herbal note.
Palate: Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Plum, dark berry fruit, licorice, hint of smoke and spice. Green vegetal note.
Quality: Outstanding. 90 points. Well balanced.
Food Pairing: Bavarian onion soup, stuffed pasta shells with roasted red pepper sauce, pork dumplings with red berry sauce, steak frites with béarnaise gravy, and braised turkey with cranberry wild rice.
