Cooper's Hawk Vineyards

Cooper's Hawk Vineyards is an estate winery located on 67 acres of land just east of Harrow, Ontario, in the Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC) Wine Country. We are named after one of the many birds of prey that frequent our vineyard, green spaces and wetlands. Our logo symbolizes our commitment to the environment.

It's that feeling of "Welcome" and "Glad you're here". It's a genuine smile when you walk through our front door.

Cooper's Hawk Vineyards is more than another winery. More than another stop along the way. It's a stop-and-stay-for-a-while place; a place where you want to relax with family and friends. And return to.

What began as a simple vineyard has grown, in eight short years, into one of Essex County's most talked about and respected producers of world class wine. With more than twenty wines on our menu, it's easy to find that particular vintage that grabs you. And we are more... CHV is dining, music, fine art and theater, green spaces, wetlands, park area, and that familiar feeling of "Welcome".

The story behind Cooper's Hawk Vineyards

Tom O'Brien bought this land near Harrow meaning to farm crops, then found it grew excellent grapes instead. He started Cooper's Hawk in 2011, naming it for the hawks that hunt over the property.

The winery grew quickly, from a few hundred cases in its first year to several thousand within a decade, on a 70-acre estate on the Lake Erie North Shore.

Warm-climate reds and a table to match

The Lake Erie North Shore is Canada's warmest mainland wine region, and Cooper's Hawk uses that heat to ripen Bordeaux-style reds like Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The Talon range, a Talon Red and a Talon White, is the signature line.

Food is part of the plan here. The Vines Restaurant on site cooks to pair with the estate wines, from a full dining room to a big vineyard-view patio.
