Ferox by Fabian Reis
Ferox produces wines that are bold and powerful with superior quality that begins in the vineyards and follows through to the bottle, combining innovation with tradition.
Winemaker Fabian Reis was born into a traditional vintner family in Stuttgart, Germany. He is the sixth generation winemaker and his family winemaking background dates back to 1893. Fabian decided to take a chance and leave the shadows of his long established winemaking customs, and set forth to produce his own style of wines alongside sommelier wife Stephanie. These premium wines will fiercely push the wine industry boundaries to the next level with wine quality and vineyard practices.

The story behind Ferox
Ferox began in 2015 with a single barrel. Winemaker Fabian Reis made one lot of Merlot and Cabernet before he owned any land, a virtual winery built on borrowed cellar space. In 2018 he and his wife Stephanie bought their own Niagara-on-the-Lake estate.
The name is Latin for fierce, or wild, which fits a project that started this small and this stubborn.
Sixth-generation, small-lot reds
Wine runs deep in Fabian Reis's family. He is a sixth-generation winemaker trained in Germany, and his grandfather founded Konzelmann, another Niagara-on-the-Lake winery. Ferox is where he works on his own terms.
The focus is intense Bordeaux-style reds, Meritage blends and single varietals, made in tiny lots. Fabian and Stephanie hand-harvest the fruit and hand-seal each bottle with wax, which tells you the scale of the place.
