Iconoclast Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, 2020

Tasting Notes: Overflowing with peaches, pineapple and passionfruit on the nose, with subtle hints of balsam fir and wildflower honey. The palate starts with an energetic attack of grilled pineapple and fresh peach, a wave of anise, tarragon, and grapefruit pith but is then balanced by the plump, round and waxy character of Semillon.

2020 was a near perfect vintage. A warm and healthy growing season lead to harvest with beautifully clean and expressive fruit. Semillon from the Fruithaven Farm vineyard brings its full-bodied character and great texture, which is a great accompaniment to Creekside’s Sauvignon Blanc that is so vibrant and intense. This careful blend brings together these varieties in perfect harmony.

Food Pairings: Don’t be afraid of dishes with some interesting spice. Serve as an aperitif with jardinière marinated vegetables (especially kimchi)! Chicken shawarma, lentil soup and fish en papillote all come to mind
