Description from the Producer
Winemaking: The Pinot Noir was harvested from the South Kelowna and Oliver regions of the Okanagan Valley in mid-October. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged in new to three-year-old 100% French oak barrels for 18 months.The select vineyards and time in oak gives it complexity and refined characteristics. The wines were blended and later bottled in August 2020. Limited production of 638 cases.
Characteristics: A bright ruby red hued Pinot Noir with a lovely bouquet of dark cherry, blue plum, dried mushrooms and subtle notes of spice box, oak and earth. This elegant medium-bodied wine has soft drying tannins and flavours of cherry, red berry and spice. The extra-dry finish lingers with notes of red berry tea, red cherry, red currant and a hint of red licorice, spice, oak and earth.
Food Pairings: Enjoy with duck breast with red wine cherry reduction; veal parmesan; veal cutlets; mushroom risotto; meaty lasagna; gourmet pizzas with mushroom, sun-dried tomatoes and eggplant; eggplant parmesan; grilled beef tenderloin; boeuf bourguignon; grilled lamb chops; turkey with mushroom stuffing; roast quail.
Serving Temperature: Serve at a cool room temperature of 16 to 18˚C.
