The grapes for this wine were hand selected from Phinny Hill Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. The vineyard sits on top of a sunny, wind-swept hill that forces the vines to fight the elements and invest a lot of energy into ripening the grapes. The result is a very powerful wine with deep and complex flavours that can age for many years.
Tasting Note:Â A full body wine with notes of blackberry, cherry and coffee.
Recommended drinking 2021–2028. Â

Appearance: Semi-opaque. Dark garnet core.
Nose: Beautiful bouquet of violets, dark cherry, plum, cassis, vanilla, black pepper, savoury green herbs, and a hint of smoke.
Palate: Medium acid, medium tannin, medium body. Black plum, dark cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, black tea, green herbs, and hints of dark chocolate and pepper spice. Great structure with velvety tannins and a smooth mouthfeel.
Quality: 91 points – Wine Club Canada. Outstanding.
Food Pairing: Grilled steak with cabernet-mustard sauce, French onion soup, mushroom stroganoff, spinach artichoke dip with baked pita, and roasted beet salad with shallot and black walnuts.
