Colour is pale gold. The aromas are complex and toast and stone fruit notes with hints of good minerality. The palate is very full with a fine structure with forward fruit and a long clean finish. The texture is full with subtle aromas on the mid palate. Our Platinum Chardonnay has a fine finish showing great persistence and freshness.

This was a featured wine in August's Wine Club package.


Geographical Indication: Four Mile Creek, ON

Vineyard: Estate Vineyard

Appearance: Clear, bright, pale gold in colour.

Nose: Medium aromatic intensity. Key lime pie, grapefruit, nectarine, apple, and buttercream.

Palate: Medium+ body, medium acid. Nectarine, lime and lemon citrus. Distinct oak aging.

Food Pairing: Chicken à la King, grilled red pepper soup, veal scallopini with mushrooms, fish and chips, and butternut squash ravioli with sage.


Wine Writer’s Comment:

Marynissen Estates has been a pioneer in Canadian winemaking and viticulture since 1975 when owners John and Adrianna Marynissen immigrated from Holland and planted vinifera grape vines in the Niagara escarpment. To this day, their plantings of Chardonnay, Riesling, Gamay Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon are some of the oldest in the country.


This is a good quality, rich, creamy Chardonnay with real presence in the body. It’s got great bones, but would benefit from 2+ years of cellar time to allow the oak to integrate more.
