Canadian wine delivered right to your door!
Our vines thrive in the conditions where shallow rooted plants do not. The vines dig deep into the earth gathering enough water and nutrition from the mineral-rich clay to produce ripe, concentrated fruit. All of the Chardonnay vines for the Hungry Point were planted at Rosehall Run between 2002 and 2007 with a healthy proportion (25%) of it being Chardonnay Musqué. These are the oldest Chardonnay Musqué vines in PEC, planted in 2002, now entering 14th leaf.
This wine was fermented cold in stainless steel to preserve the aromatics and not let any of the precious fruit disappear in the tumult of a hot, volatile fermentation. Bottled in early February 2015.
This flinty-tasting Chardonnay shows aromas of zesty lemon, fresh green apple and white flowers and on the palate the same citrus/tree fruit characteristics followed by a distinct mineral finish.
Food Pairing Suggestions:
All kinds of shellfish, especially oysters. Try deep-fried fish, the crisp , minerals of the wine will cuts through the richness of the batter, and add delicious citrusy accompaniments to the fish. Try also Vegetable terrines with this wine, or any green salad with warm goat cheese.
