The story behind Park Distillery

Park Distillery opened in downtown Banff in 2015, and it holds a distinction no other Canadian distillery can claim: it is the only one inside a national park. It runs as a distillery, restaurant, and bar all at once, with a backcountry, campfire-cuisine theme.

The mountains are not just scenery here. They supply the water.

Glacier water, mountain grain

Park makes its spirits with glacier-fed water drawn from the Banff aquifer and grain grown in Alberta. Master distiller Matt Hendricks has led production from the start, working in small batches.

The lineup covers vodka, gin, and rye, including an Alpine Dry Gin flavoured with hand-foraged spruce tips. The spirits have won medals at international competitions, led by a platinum for the vodka.
