The Story
As the great Frank Sinatra song goes, "I did it my way". True to their father's maverick nature, the Neufeld brothers have never been ones to shy away from risk. Planting our Viognier vines 9 years ago, in an emerging wine region, there was no way to have known how incredibly well this varietal would thrive. This is the second vintage release and we could not be more thrilled.
Our 2023 was made in two parts. One was made entirely in stainless steel to retain the intense aromas of this wine and preserve crisp fresh acidity. The second part was aged in flavour-neutral French oak barrels for a short time to broaden the palate and further support the vibrant fruit characteristics of this wine. Both parts were blended before bottling and gently filtered.
With vibrant exotic notes of cantaloupe, papaya, toasty pastry, and pistachio nuttiness, this wine reveals something new every time that you go back for more. On the palate are a rich ripe texture and its signature round mouthfeel, with flavours that are setting a benchmark. One cannot help but feel giddy.
How to enjoy this wine
We feel that this wine stands up on its own, where you can enjoy this on your deck while enjoying the long golden warm rays of the setting sun. Enjoy this as well with dishes that have big flavours! Saffron, ginger, and green Thai curry to name a few. This wine will delight a seafood feast, especially crab or clams.
