Domaine viticole Little Farm
The story behind Little Farm
Little Farm lives up to its name: a tiny organic vineyard in Cawston, in the Similkameen Valley just west of the Okanagan. Rhys Pender and Alishan Driediger bought the five-acre parcel in 2008 and planted it soon after.
Pender is a Master of Wine, one of only a small number in Canada, which makes this modest little farm a serious address.
Organic, mineral, hands-off
The estate has been farmed organically from the start and is certified organic. The winemaking is low-intervention, aimed at capturing the stony, mineral character of the Similkameen ground.
The focus is narrow and deliberate: dry, tightly wound Riesling and Chardonnay off the estate's Mulberry Tree Vineyard. Small in scale, precise in style.
