SpearHead fait tourner les têtes depuis son ouverture en 2010 : il a été nommé « Meilleur nouveau vignoble » aux BC Wine Awards 2012, et en 2012, le magazine Wine Access a nommé le Pinot Noir 2010 du vignoble comme le meilleur du Canada.

Nous nous concentrons sur des vins de qualité supérieure, produits à partir de raisins cultivés sur notre domaine et dans des vignobles sélectionnés de la vallée de l'Okanagan. Les raisins, vendangés à la main, sont triés à la cave et fermentés en petits lots.

Outre notre souci d'excellence pour nos vins, nous nous engageons à mettre en valeur les terroirs spécifiques du centre de la vallée de l'Okanagan. Pour nos cuvées de pinot noir, nous avons lancé un programme visant à produire des vins spécifiques à chaque terroir, mettant en valeur les caractéristiques uniques de vignobles sélectionnés de l'Okanagan.

The story behind SpearHead Winery

SpearHead began in 2008 as a project among three friends who bought a former apple orchard on the slopes of East Kelowna. The first wines came with the 2010 vintage.

It started life as SpierHead, named for Spiers Road, then changed to SpearHead in 2018 to settle a trademark clash with a South African winery. The focus never wavered: Pinot Noir.

A Pinot Noir specialist

SpearHead pours most of its energy into Pinot Noir, bottling it block by block and clone by clone, with Chardonnay and Riesling alongside. Winemaker Grant Stanley, who made his name with Pinot at Quails' Gate and in New Zealand, joined in 2017.

The results have been hard to ignore. SpearHead was named Winery of the Year at the 2024 National Wine Awards of Canada, a rare feat for a small producer.
