Red Rooster Winery was founded in 1990 and released their first vintage in 1997. With 6 Lieutenant Governor's Award of Excellence under their belt, they consistently produce an extraordinary portfolio of wines year after year. Red Rooster is dedicated to placing a lot of time, effort, and passion into the winemaking process to ensure that every bottle is a masterpiece.
We had the pleasure of tasting some of Red Rooster’s wines and can assure you that you are getting a selection of truly remarkable wines. Here are a few of our favourites from April’s wine club packages.
Rated an outstanding 90 points by Canadian wine expert Tony Aspler, this wine is only available through our wine club! This bubbly greets you with a burst of fruity apple on the nose while lemon and green apple flavours emerge on the palate. Excellent alongside linguini with clams and scallops, kale and persimmon salad with pecan vinaigrette, and salmon with sage butter sauce.
This superb white emanates light floral and honey aromas with notes of pear, nectarine, and a hint of baking spice on the palate. Enjoy it with veal and sauerkraut, roasted ham with orange marmalade, and truffle sautéed cod with candied fruit.
This medium-bodied blend of cabernet franc, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and petit verdot has a floral and pepper bouquet leading to notes of blackcurrant, plum, and black cherry on the palate with well-integrated oak. Pair it with barbequed pulled pork, grilled lamb chops with harissa yogurt, and tuna burgers with lemon paprika.
Earning an impressive 91 points from Tony Aspler, this elegant red blend is full of rich cedar, blackcurrant, and tobacco notes. It is well-balanced with a silky finish. A perfect pairing with duck and andouille sausage gumbo, beef brisket with wild mushrooms, and fusilli with artichoke hearts and parmesan.
