The story behind TIME
TIME was founded in 2013 by Harry McWatters, one of the founding figures of the modern BC wine industry. He had already started Sumac Ridge, widely called the province's first estate winery, and helped build the BC VQA system.
The winery opened in downtown Penticton inside a former movie theatre, an unusual home for a cellar. McWatters died in 2019, but the brands he built carry on.
A pioneer's family of wines
TIME is really a family of labels under one roof, from the TIME wines themselves to the premium McWatters Collection and the sparkling-focused Evolve Cellars. The McWatters Collection tops the range with Bordeaux-style Meritage blends.
The winemaking carries forward the standards McWatters set over a long career. It remains an urban winery, making and pouring wine right in the middle of Penticton.
